The enrichment of natural gas with hydrogen has been identified as a promising pathway for power-to-gas technology the potential to reduce emissions while achieving feasible return on investment. evolving regulatory market in province Ontario motivates analysis business cases industrial microgrid scale. This paper aims investigate financial and environmental returns associated producing storing electrolytic injection into feed manufacturer’s combined heat power plants (CHPs). A mathematical methodology was developed investigating optimal operation integrated system (power-to-gas along current system) by considering hydrogen-enriched gas. result this simulation is an plan that delivers economics estimate greenhouse emissions. implemented across entire year each combination generation price limit storage coefficient. Because provincial grid imposes lesser carbon footprint than pure turbine, any offset reduces intensity system. From perspective, amount abated model fell within range 3000 ton CO2/year. policy suggests minimum $60/ton CO2e must be set applicable bodies. Lastly, Failure Modes Effects Analysis performed proposed validate safety design.
